Aortic Summit 2023

Title: Back to the Roots

During this summit, you will be taken on a journey through the entire aorta and its branches, sharing expertise with a world-renowned faculty, and you will have the opportunity to practice during numerous workshops by addressing both open surgery and endovascular therapy.

Location: Lugano, Palazzo dei Congress

26 – 28 October 2023

Aortic 360 Basic Aortic Seminar

Venue: Winterthur, Switzerland

Target group
First to third-year residents in cardiac and vascular surgery and interventional radiology/ angiology.

Learning objective
After this course you will have the knowledge and skills to perform standard open and endovascular access procedures for classical surgery as well as for EVAR, TEVAR, and f/bEVAR, you will be able to make measurements for planning access for EVAR, TEVAR and f/bEVAR procedures and you will be able to conceptually treat complications being associated with these access site procedures.

22 – 23 March 2024

Endovascular Repair of Thoracoabdominal Aneurysms With Fenestrated/Branched Devices

Venue: LMU Klinikum, Munich, Germany

Learning objective
This theoretical overview will begin at the level of the descending aorta, covering the whole of the thoracoabdominal disease spectrum through to the iliac arteries. The theoretical component of day one will culminate with an introduction to case planning on the dedicated 3D workstation, Terarecon, together with the opportunity to plan two separate thoracoabdominal cases.

During the second day, participants will visit the hybrid OR, encounter fusion technology, and observe two complex endovascular aortic cases.

6 – 7 May 2024

Aortic 360 Advanced Aortic Seminar

Venue: Winterthur, Switzerland

Advanced Cardiac and Vascular Surgeons.

Learning objective
After this course, you will have the knowledge and skills to conceptually perform root-sparing aortic valve replacement, aortic arch replacement using the FET technique as well as branched endovascular aortic arch repair. Furthermore, TA replacement as well as feVAR/bEVAR (including iliacs) will complete the course.

6 – 7 September 2024

Endovascular Course For Branched Endovascular Aortic Procedures

Venue: TBD

Learning objective
For already experienced users, we aim to show troubleshooting strategies and the broad applicability of the endovascular repair from the aortic arch to the iliac vessel axis. The theoretical part on day one will culminate with an introduction to case planning on the dedicated 3D workstation EndoSize, together with the opportunity to plan the BEVAR case for the following day.

During the second day, participants will encounter the pre-operative team time-out including presentations focusing on the case of the day. They will be instructed to perform the on-table deployment of a pre-cannulated off-the-shelf endograft and consequently observe one BEVAR case.

Stay tuned for program and registration information.
