Tatiana M. Sequeira Gross, MD

Dr. Tatiana Sequeira Gross is a cardiac surgeon originally from Latin America. She began her surgical career in pediatric surgery before transitioning to cardiac surgery. She completed her training in 2023 at the University Hospital Augsburg and the University Hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) in Germany.

During her residency, she initiated and established a large-scale aortic biobank, which further deepened her interest in basic and translational research in aortic diseases. In 2021, she received her doctorate for research investigating the association between aortic flow patterns, gene expression, and histological alterations of the proximal aorta in patients with aortic disease.

As an attending physician, her primary clinical interests focus on advanced surgical strategies in aortic arch surgery and  surgical management of aortic dissection. Alongside her clinical activities, she is particularly committed to education and international exchange in aortic medicine.  Dr.  Sequeira Gross currently serves as Deputy director of the German Aortic Center Hamburg - UKE.
