Lisa Harling, MD

Dr. Lisa Harling is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Aortic Institute at Yale School of Medicine. She earned her medical degree and doctorate in medicine from the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany.

Dr. Harling’s research career has been supported by prestigious fellowships, including the BMEP scholarship, which enabled her doctoral research at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia from 2021 to 2022, where she investigated the gut microbiome and inflammatory bowel disease. She currently holds a Walter-Benjamin Fellowship from the German Research Foundation (DFG) for postdoctoral work at Yale, where her research focuses on aortic disease.

In addition to her research activities, Dr. Harling serves as an elected council member of the Young Forum of the German Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery (DGTHG), demonstrating her commitment to advancing the field. She plans to complete her medical residency in cardiothoracic surgery, combining her research expertise with clinical practice.
