Hansjörg Jenni

Education: Hansjörg Jenni completed his training as a perfusionist in 2002, adhering to the guidelines established by the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (EBCP). In addition to his initial training, he pursued and completed postgraduate studies, earning a Master's degree in Medical Technology Management.

Professional Experience: Since 2015, he has served as the Chief Perfusionist at Inselspital Bern. In 2023, he was appointed Co-President of the Swiss Society for Perfusion (SSoP). Furthermore, he holds teaching positions at Careum University Zurich and the University of Bern.

Professional Focus: Since the beginning of his career, Hansjörg has specialized in non-invasive patient monitoring, particularly in relation to NIRS technology. He has a keen interest in its application during procedures involving deep hypothermic circulatory arrest. Additionally, perfusion management during complex aortic surgeries is another of his primary areas of interest. In recent years, he has been actively involved in optimizing the heart-lung machine and developing new perfusion strategies.
