EACH & the Organ Aorta: Shaping Policy for Integrated Aortic Care

________________________________________

This dedicated session will focus on the current status and strategic direction of the European Alliance for Cardiovascular Health (EACH) and its implications for advancing the recognition of the aorta as a central organ in cardiovascular care.

Key objectives of the session include:

  • Presenting recent developments within the EACH initiative and its policy impact at the European level,

  • Highlighting the burden and complexity of aortic diseases as a pan-European health challenge,

  • Discussing the path toward establishing the aorta as a defined organ within EU health policy frameworks,

  • Outlining next steps toward a European strategy for aortic health, including the implementation of a Disease Management Program (A-DMP) and the creation of a European Aortic Registry.

The session will be interactive and conclude with a moderated discussion to define concrete actions and political milestones for the coming years. Key stakeholders, including MEPs, policymakers, and medical societies, are invited to contribute.

This session lays the political and structural foundation for the congress’s core mission: to place the aorta at the heart of multidisciplinary, evidence-based, and policy-supported cardiovascular care.

Membership Day – Part II

Patient Lifetime Management in Aortic Disease

A Joint Session with Patient Organizations, Clinicians & Affected Individuals

________________________________________

Aortic disease is not a moment – it is a lifelong condition. Its management requires more than procedures; it demands structured, continuous care that adapts to the patient’s evolving needs over decades.

In this spirit, Membership Day – Part II brings together patients, clinicians, and advocacy groups to address one of the most urgent challenges in aortic care: the development of meaningful lifetime management pathways.

From the initial diagnosis to post-operative follow-up, genetic screening, and psychosocial support, this session explores how care can be reshaped with and for patients. The voices of those living with aortic disease – and the organizations representing them – take center stage.

We will discuss current gaps, present new survey data on patient needs and experiences, and lay the foundation for a truly patient-centered Aortic Disease Management Program (A-DMP).
